Piedmont Pharmaceuticals Announces Board of Directors Appointments

Greensboro, N.C. (March 13) - Piedmont Pharmaceuticals LLC, a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on parasitology and drug delivery systems for human and companion animal use, has announced the appointment of its first board of directors.

Piedmont Pharmaceuticals directors include former commercial banker Luther H. Hodges, Jr., investment manager Andy Jane, entrepreneur Lanty L. Smith, and professor of pharmaceutical sciences Kenneth "Bill" Yates, D.V.M. The board is chaired by Roland Johnson, the company's founder and CEO.

"The remarkable depth and breadth of experience they bring to the table will be invaluable to Piedmont Pharmaceuticals as we continue to build our product pipeline and grow our business." Piedmont Pharmaceuticals' directors offer expertise in a number of areas. Hodges, a professor at the University of North Carolina's Kenan-Flagler Business School, is a veteran banker and the former deputy secretary of the United States Department of Commerce. Jane, a partner at one of Australia's leading venture capital firms, has 15 years of experience in project management and business development. Smith is the founder of several successful corporations and began his career as a partner at Jones Day, one of the largest law firms in the world. Yates, who is chairman of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the College of Pharmacy at Harding University, co-founded a Texas company that develops drug delivery devices. "It is an honor to have this group as our board members," said Johnson. "Our company will certainly benefit from their expert advice and counsel as we take our head lice treatment, RESULTZ, through Phase III clinical trials in the U.S. and continue to develop other promising products in our pipeline."
