Piedmont Pharmaceuticals Licenses New Product to Pfizer Inc.

GREENSBORO, N.C. (April 7, 2005) -- Piedmont Pharmaceuticals' wholly-owned company, Triad Specialty Products, today announces that it has licensed its successful new equine feed-through fly control product to Pfizer Animal Health. Triad developed the product and received regulatory clearance to market it early last year. Originally marketed as Serene(TM) Feed-Through Fly Control by Triad Specialty Products, it will now be marketed under the name of Solitude(R) IGR by Pfizer Animal Health. The product is a non-organophosphate oral fly control for horses that drastically reduces fly populations in and around barns and stables.

Veterinarians and horse owners enthusiastic

As evidenced by the numerous testimonials the company has received, the product has demonstrated real-world efficacy with veterinarians and horse owners alike. A survey of Serene (Solitude IGR) users found an exceptionally high level of satisfaction with the product. The product targets immature flies -- the critical gap in fly control programs.
