Piedmont Pharmaceuticals develops innovative compounds and delivery systems to help promote the health and well-being of companion animals (dogs, cats and horses). The companion animal health market is a core competency at Piedmont Pharmaceuticals, and many of our team members are world-renowned experts in this field.

To date Piedmont Pharmaceuticals has developed a patented product for horses and a patent-pending, chewable drug-delivery platform for cats and dogs.

• Solitude™ IGR is our patented, feed-through fly control compound for horses. The product, administered in alfalfa-based pellets, reduces stable fly and house fly populations in barns by 95 to 100 percent. We launched Solitude in 2004 and licensed the product to Pfizer Animal Health in 2005.
• Piedmont Pharmaceuticals has developed an innovative chewable drug delivery platform for dogs and cats. Designed to deliver virtually any medication, the soft, tasty, meat-free treat is made without water and without the use of extrusion methods to help ensure that the integrity and potency of active ingredients are maintained. The treat is also completely free of animal byproducts to guarantee easy integration into existing manufacturing capabilities.
